July flew by for me like it never even happened! (Clearly, as my July posts show this year, it almost didn’t.) I do apologize for falling off the wagon, but this time, rather than my simply being flaky, it was because I found myself pushing myself to my very limits and shockingly surviving it all better and more energetic than ever!
I traveled to Texas for my first national conference experience for my jewelry company. It was intense! Wonderful bonding with some team members, but I absolutely struggled with certain accessibility issues. (This is a typical challenge of traveling alone, but I had no idea of the magnificent scope of the Fort Worth Convention Center or the amount of walking (herding, more like, with the thousands of women there!) Further, I took it upon myself to become the team photographer for the span of the event.
If you’ve ever been to a conference of any nature, you’ll know that it’s simply inevitable to sleep far, far less than what you’re used to. Not only was I uncharacteristically fatigued, but as a result of my brain injury, when my brain is tired, my body loses most sense of balance or speed. Regardless, I had an enjoyable time (despite the infernal heat!).
I would then only have two nights to recover from the last four days’ worth of deprivation before Anthony and I moved ourselves into a hotel in Schaumburg so we’d be nearby for our upcoming Tony Robbins Unleash the Power Within seminar!
Let me tell you, I had to drag Anthony to the seminar kicking and screaming. He downright resented me for “making” him go. But after walking on fire the first day of the UPW (you read that right), Anthony came home with me at 3am exclaiming, “I love Tony Robbins!”

This is the guy who took nearly a year and a half to even say he loved me, so my jaw dropped. Anthony doesn’t drop the L-bomb easily, nor is he one to turn off the skepticism early.
Anyway, after four intense, long, and physically demanding days with barely any sleep, I shocked myself with my buzzing energy levels.
Not only did this happen, but the next day, I was to start “boudoir bootcamp” at the photography studio I work at part-time, which was all day, every day for the next five days, allowing me no chance to recover. The following Saturday, I had a vendor event that required I get barely any sleep after I stayed up till 5am getting prepared . . .
Even more mind-blowing? I left Tony Robbins on a mission to take a health challenge alongside Anthony — cleaning up my system for 10 whole days and completely transforming the way I ate and even breathed.

I want to go into more detail about this health challenge, so I’m declaring August “Food Month” — and I promise this won’t be a measly two articles. Since I’m living this lifestyle change every day now, I have no excuse for neglecting it.
I will aim to post an article on some kind of health aspect relating to food and one article with a recipe per week. I can’t profess to have all the answers, but consider my words a guide.
The one thing you can always count on is activity on my Facebook page, however, so if you haven’t already liked it, please do! I am on Facebook doing marketing for my jewelry business, the studio, and my parents’ restaurant all week anyway, so I can always be reached there.
To our healing,
