Some awesome mushrooms I found on my walk (taken with my old-school camera).
Sometimes a good workout can sneak up on you. I decided yesterday to go out to the forest preserve to walk briskly for half an hour rather than waste the randomly hot day in the gym on a machine.
This morning I intended to get up around 8.30 — at 11.30 I awoke from a really weird dream about being a high schooler (then suddenly an undergrad again) and got out of bed. It was an epic fail on the getting up front, but to my surprise, I realized the reason it had been so difficult to get up was because I was sore.
Remember what I said about changing things up to avoid plateau? Looks like I’ll be back in the woods more frequently than I expected from now on (at least as long as it’s still warm enough). I had stuck too long with the elliptical, I’m sure (what was I thinking?).
Have IMAX tickets to Avatar — evidently there’s a “connecting to nature” theme in that film, so I should take a hint. We all should; Mother Nature promotes well being.
To our healing,
